Learn Spanish in South America

The numbers alone are reason enough to study Spanish: it’s the fourth most spoken language in the world with some 400 million speakers. Just by speaking Spanish, you could easily make friends in 20 different countries. Spain’s influence is seen up and down the American continents. Not only is it helpful to know how to ask for directions while travelling, you could also make a difference in the professional world or volunteer in developing areas.

You might already know “Buenos días” in Spanish, but it’s another story to learn the language while living in South America. There’s no substitute for conversing with native speakers every day. That’s why we have four language schools with different types of programs to help you successfully learn Spanish in South America.

Learn Spanish in various ways

Study Spanish in a classroom. Our group classes have no more than six students, and are tailored to your level of proficiency. Or for more personalized attention, you can choose individual classes, which will give you that one-on-one time with your teacher.  Either way, you can explore grammar, get conversation practice and study Hispanic literature with a native Spanish speaker as a guide.

Travel South America while learning Spanish. If you want to discover colonial cities, learn the traditions from an indigenous family, or trek the countryside with a teacher by your side, take a Travelling Classroom. You can hit the road in the morning to practice your Spanish in real-life situations and then use the afternoons to perfect your grammar.

Combine your Spanish classes with surf lessons. Be one with the sea as you learn surfing or stand up paddle. Merge your water lessons with Spanish classes to get the best of both worlds.

Pair diving with language learning. Explore tropical waters and snap photos of colorful sea life while at the same time perfecting your Spanish skills. Get lost in South America’s natural wonders concealed under the waves.

Learn Spanish quicker by making friends with a native speaker. A tandem program is a great way to exchange languages: learn Spanish while your partner learns English or German from you. This informal setting is ideal to converse in, and the program is complimentary.

Discover raw nature while perfecting your Spanish. Become a member of an indigenous family, learn how to organically farm, or stay in an eco lodge in the middle of the Amazon Rainforest. Spend your time between Spanish classes and local activities that will immerse you in the local culture.

Our proven teaching methodology will provide you with the tools and resources you need to make the most of your time in South America. You will be evaluated with an entrance examination on your first day to ensure you are placed in the right group, and our teachers will adapt their lesson plans to meet your proficiency level.

Whether you choose traditional classes, want to pursue a water sport while learning the language, or hone your grammar while travelling, we have a Spanish program that’s sure to meet your needs.
